This unit of work uses the context of weekend activities to assist students in understanding and forming simple Tamil sentences. Students are guided to discuss what they did on the weekend and to describe their experiences using the senses (i.e. what they saw, ate and touched) and specific adjectives.
E.g.: I went to beach and created a big sandcastle. (நான் கடற்கரைக்குச் சென்று பெரிய மணல் வீடு கட்டினேன்). This example covers the vocabulary related to a weekend activity, uses the verb in the past tense, and add expressions using right adjectives.
This is Tamil–English unit of work designed to introduce basic vocabulary related to the home. It uses colourful illustrations to present three rooms—living room, bedroom, and kitchen—and two common objects in each room. Each object is labelled in Tamil and English, with simple model sentences (e.g., “Sofa helps to sit”) to support early sentence formation. The resource supports vocabulary recognition, pronunciation, and simple sentence construction in a highly visual and engaging way.

In this unit of work students explore traditional Games played by Tamils. They include games played outdoors and indoors. Students are prepared to create questions in Tamil for the discussion to understand various traditional games around the world to be used in a role play media interview. The students are also guided to design a poster to introduce to the community about the various Tamil traditional games to be played on the fun day organised at the school.
